Our mission is to advance the education, health and well-being of pupils, teachers and communities associated with our three Ugandan schools.
We do this through providing teachers, clean water, brick buildings for classrooms, school meals, an orphanage, and large farming projects to enable self sufficiency.

We will be spending two weeks training teenagers basic carpentry. These will typically be boys who have failed to progress at Secondary School either due to not being able to pay the school fees or because they have failed an end of year exam. This can be due to poor teaching as much as due to lack of application.

There are 12 of us going form all sorts of different backgrounds including teaching, construction, law and medicine.
We will spend one week in the countryside at Rock of JOy Masaka and Lady Grace Scools and then a second week in the slums of Kampala at Lugala and Lungujja.
Our main task is to set up vocational training in carpentry and Machine sewing.
In addition we will be doing teacher training, engaging with parents, manual labour and involvement in the communities of our schools.

There is no electricity in the schools and therefore we are buying 4 pedal powered sewing machines. They will be set up in workshops so that young ladies can be taught how to make reuseable sanitary pads for sale. In addition they will learn how to make basic clothes so that they can develop small scale businesses.
