Team 3 in Lugala
By rockofjoy, Jul 30 2019 07:51PM
We have arrived at Rock of Joy Lugala to the warmest welcome yet & having been greeted by Headteacher Benald & Teo, we were taken on a tour of the school to meet each of the classes.
It is really exciting to see the developments at the school since our last visit, particulary the new toilet block.
In 2017 Team 3 were upset by the smelly maggot infested long drop pit latrines used by the pupils & vowed to get them replaced with plumbed in flushing toilets. Lots of people have been fundraising but it has been great for John who ran the Chester 10k & Eve, Sarah & Josh whose little sister sold badges in their schools see their efforts have resulted in the gleaming new facilities being used by the pupils.
I'm really proud of the whole team for pulling out the stops & finding the energy & motivation to keep working hard in our final week.
We are visiting some of the poorest homes we have seen to hang nets which is hot, tiring & challenging but everyone is determined to finish well & make the most of the last few days.
Parents & grandparents can be very proud of all your young people have achieved.
We'll be home soon to tell you all about it!
Love from us all & see you on Sunday.
